Designed for getting a video signal from one place to another via cat 2, cat 3, cat 5, telephone lines or UTP (unshielded twisted pair). Use from one pair to a 50 pair trunking cable, for one to fifty cameras without the weight or bulk of coax cable. Ground loop elimination built-in. This is the ideal product for hard to solve installation problems will work from 50' to 8000' no need for rg 6 or rg 11 at distances greater than 500 feet. Use point-to-point Unshielded Twisted Pair wire, 24-16AWG (0,5-1,31mm), stranded or solid, Category 2, or better. Never use Shielded Twisted Pair wire (Exception: Multi-pair wire with an overall shield is OK). Do not use un-twisted wire or "quad-wire". The video signal may co-exist in the same wire bundle as other video, telephone, data, control signals, or low-voltage power. Always follow National Electrical Code, local, or other safety requirements. For safety, never put NVT signals in the same conduit with high-voltage power. The wire must be installed with no bridge-taps, loading coils, talk-battery, or MOV type protectors. NVT's high-bandwidth signal will not pass through a telephone switching system, however multiple punch-blocks are OK. Works well in elevators simply attach to spare phone line. |

Use point to point UTP wire 24-16 AWG stranded or solid wire Use cat 2 or better For distance up to 750' passive non amplified units will work For distance over 750' amplified receiver is required For distance over 3000' amplified receiver and transmitter are required Power is either 12 dc or 24 ac APPLICATION NOTES DONT'S Do not use high voltage in wire conduit with NVT wiring Do not mix wire colors solid color must be the same on both ends e.g.. if solid color is plus it should be the same on both ends Distance very important for correct choice of NVT unit to use. don't guess at wire length ,refer to chart below 24AWG (0,5mm) = 52ohms per 1000ft (300m) 19AWG (0,8mm) = 16ohms per 1000ft (300m) 22AWG (0,5mm) = 32ohms per 1000ft (300m) 18AWG (1,0mm) = 13ohms per 1000ft (300m) 20AWG (0,5mm) = 20ohms per 1000ft (300m) 16AWG (1,3mm) = 8.2ohms per 1000ft (300m) |

Examples of Applications Distance less Than 750’ 1 camera Use two Passive Transceivers NV 216a to NV 216a Distance more Than 750’ less than 3000’ 1 camera Use one Passive one Active Transceiver 216a to 652R Distance more Than 750’ less than 5000’ 1 camera Use two Active Transceivers 653T to 652R Distance more Than 750’ less than 8000” 1 camera Use two Active Transceivers 653T to 652R w/cat 5 wire
For multiple cameras at similar distances use Passive and/or active Hubs. For additional information on any NVT product or it’s use please Contact Sylvester@4Spi.com |
